This is the only skate sock will use ever again. Got them for my son originally for hockey, and he loved them. Got for me as well due to quality of socks my son received. These are super comfortable and supportive with great protection. I have bought my son more of them and now has about 5 pairs to account for his skate schedule so he has clean socks. This is the sock you should be using.

Just the right thickness and compression. I’m 5-11 and got the large and they are about an inch too long
My son wanted to try these, he likes them better than any other skate sock. A big plus for him is that they don't have seems near the toes. So no added pressure points. They seem to wash up well, as far as durability not sure yet.
