The Rookie & the Legend: Mo Seider chats with Thomas Rüfenacht
From highlights to hits and haters, they do it all in AYCANE hockey hear
To say Moritz Seider had an incredible first NHL season would be an understatement. The touted rookie immediately slid into the top pair for the Detroit Red Wings and played big minutes in every situation. He led the team in ice-time and points for a defenseman with 50 (7 goals, 43 assists).
He also showed he isn’t afraid to lay the body, using his big frame to dish out hits to opposing forwards. The bad news for the league? He’s only going to get bigger and better. Of course, that’s good news for Red Wings fans, but also for us here at AYCANE — Mo has been with us since day one, wearing our hockey baselayers under his gear and our workout apparel off the ice.
In this two-part series, he sits down for a fun chat with Swiss League legend, Thomas Rüfenacht. Nothing is off limits! We let the boys take things wherever they wanted to go.
The results are pretty funny, a candid chat between two hockey players. A bit more authentic than the same old interviews you’re used to seeing from hockey stars.
In this first episode they discuss:
- Did Mo have any idea he was going to win the Calder Trophy?
- The biggest highlights from his first season
- Haters and supporters
- Whether he prefers hitting opponents or the net
- Getting the star treatment back home
- Leading by example in year two and aiming for a playoff spot
